马建旗（幼名马根丑）男，汉，1951年7月出生于山西省保德县冯家川乡神山村。高中文化，1972年参加工作。在忻州地区，石豹沟煤矿负责后勤宣传工作，1977年到保德县铁厂工作。现任中国书画家协会会员、全国少儿美术技能测评师、中国教育电视台《水墨丹青》栏目书画院会员、中国楹联协会会员、中国湖南东方名人书画院签约书法家、太原市万里书画院副院长。

马建旗自幼家境贫寒，由于家乡坐落在黄河岸边，厚重的黄河文化熏陶，使得从小就酷爱书法艺术。由于爱好书法艺术，经常接触到好多书画名家。因勤奋好学得到了许多著名书法家的特别关照。早年从师中国著名书法家启功先生，在启功先生的指导下开始临欧阳询、柳公权、孙过庭《书谱》等古代名家碑贴入手。寒暑无间，终年临池不辍。字动如云，飘荡碧空映日月。作品舒展流畅，且雍容大度，翰墨深窗致心境高远，与时俱进、阔步创新、妙笔生花、意境深奥。

马建旗书法多次在杂志《采风中国》、《书法》、《中国书画报》等书刊和中国《头条》发表或作过专题介绍。曾荣获中国教育电视台《水墨丹青》栏目举办的“泼墨中华情”书法一等奖。2019年书法作品：“秋风”、“龙马精神”、“黄鹤楼”、“台城”；被选收编入《中国书画大百科》全书中。“中国梦”、“茶禅一味”、“锦绣前程”、“江山如画”、“一身正气，两袖清风”、“盛世华诞”书法作品被“伟大历程——庆祝建国七十周年”主题书画展，由中国邮品开发组委会，中国集邮文化中心主办的限量珍藏版邮册收编入册，作为永久收藏。2020年3月第四届国际中国公益事业大典登上了中央广播电视台星光影视《智慧中国》栏目。现场书写被评为国际中国公益事业“2020年度最佳德艺双馨书法家”荣誉称号。2021年由中国集邮中心主办的“不忘初心，铸就辉煌”庆祝中国共产党建党100周年书画活动中，其作品“中国梦”、“忠诚”、“红军不怕远征难”获为金奖。同时被受予“中国艺术先锋”榜样人物荣誉称号。书法作品“长征”被国家博物馆和名人收藏。部分优秀作品由国艺文化研究院出版了中国书法艺术“著名书法家马建旗”专辑。
